Tungnath has been a sacred pilgrimage site for thousands of years, open from May to November. In winter, the deity is shifted to Ukhimath for worship. A visit here is deeply spiritual and visually breathtaking.

Rising above Tungnath at 4,130 metres, Chandrashila offers one of the finest 360° panoramic views in Uttarakhand — Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome, Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba all visible on a clear day.
According to Hindu mythology, this is where Lord Rama meditated after defeating Ravana. The summit is reached via an extra 1 km steep climb above Tungnath — utterly worth every step.

A magical high-altitude lake at 2,438 metres that perfectly mirrors the Chaukhamba snow peaks on still mornings. Surrounded by dense mixed forest, Deoria Tal is famous for its incredible reflections at sunrise.
The easy 2-km forest trail makes it accessible for all age groups including families with children. Best visited at dawn for the perfect mirror reflection and golden morning light on the peaks.

One of the holiest Hindu temples in India and part of the Char Dham circuit — the ancient Kedarnath Jyotirlinga at 3,583 metres is set dramatically against a snow-capped backdrop. Accessible as a full-day trip from our camp.
The 16 km trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath passes through breathtaking Himalayan scenery. The temple is open from May to November — plan accordingly for the best experience.

Chopta lies within the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary — a 975 sq km protected area home to snow leopards, Himalayan black bears, musk deer and over 200 bird species including the spectacular Himalayan Monal (Uttarakhand's state bird).
Early morning walks from the camp are the best way to encounter wildlife. Look for Koklas Pheasant, Snow Partridge, Himalayan Woodpecker and Bearded Vulture.

The winter seat of Kedarnath and Madhyamaheshwar deities — Ukhimath is an authentic Garhwali village with ancient temples, traditional wooden architecture and a warm local community just 12 km from camp.
The village serves as the starting point for the Madmaheshwar trek — one of the Panch Kedar pilgrimages. Explore the ancient Ukhimath temple and interact with local families for a truly immersive cultural experience.
